Triple Crown

In order to be able to win the Triple Crown, horses must be eligible and entered to race in the Breeders Crown(see conditions). If they are not eligible to race with the Breeders Crown, they cannot therefore win the Triple Crown.

Highest entries ever at this stage for the Breeders Crown

It is most encouraging to find that the highest entries have been received for the Breeders Crown at this stage. This is the only series that caters for a horses career from start to finish, from 2yo until aged. Thanks to everyone for all your support. Look forward to seeing you all at York Raceway on 4th & 5th August.

Boost For 3 Year Olds with the Triple Crown

Three leading harness racing promoters have banded together to initiate the Triple Crown. This is for 3YOs (colts or fillies).
The first leg (final) to be held at Appleby Spring Meeting 3YO Grass Track Championship held in May. The winner of the first leg (final) will dictate which sex will be competing in the 2nd and final leg. The 2nd leg will be the Breeders Crown (finals) held at York Raceway at the beginning of August, culminating at Tregaron (finals) at the end of August.
The winner will receive £1,000 plus rug and trophy. If the Triple Crown is not won, then £500 money will be added per annum until won.

Track Records Made and Broken in Amman Valley

As promised the Breeders Crown went to Wales and was supported well by Welsh contestants. Track records were made and broken over the 2 day meeting. This was the most sub 2 minute races Amman Valley has had over a 2 day meeting.Altogether there were 6 races that went in under 2 minutes, 2 Prefereed Free for All races and 4 Breeders Crown juvenile races, proving the breed of these young horses is getting better. Go to our results page for more info. These are Amman Valley track records for young horses and we are awaiting confirmation from BHRC that these times are all British Bred Track records for a half mile track.(All horses tested)
